Margaret Knight - Harpist |

Harpist, Margaret Knight was the
winner of an Anglo-Norse society scholarship. She
has performed throughout the world. Her most notable
appearances include the famous Winter Palace of
Peter the Great in St Petersburg, in Japan for the
Empress at the Soka harp festival, in America for
the North American Jane Austin Society conference,
in Istanbul, playing on a steam ship for Turkish
celebrities and European journalists, as well as
playing for private parties in Tokyo, Scandinavia
and Germany! She also visits Australia, Tasmania
and New Zealand every spring to give concerts and
master classes. |
| Margaret has also composed and recorded voice and
harp music for broadcast dramas on BBC Radio Three
and made arrangements of many classical and folk
songs. She has also appeared on Russian television
and was featured in her own right on radio 4’s
The Afternoon shift and Desert Island Discs for
the Australian Broadcasting Company. She has recorded
the sound tracks for many films - she was the hand-double
for Kylie Minogue in Jim Henson’s 2005 "Jack
and the Beanstalk" recorded at Elstree Studios! |

In 2006, along with other well known British musicians
Margaret was invited to Buckingham Palace to celebrate
her services for British music. She is the resident
harpist for Warwick Castle, and recently played
for the Home Office and their European counterparts
in the Queen's state dining room. Margaret plays
Classical, Light Classical, Gaelic Folk and popular
Jazz. Margaret has played at many events and will
provide the perfect music for any occasion. |
