North Stars Steel Orchestra.
Caribbean Steel Band Wedding Hire.

With Tony Blair

The North Stars Steel Orchestra is a caribbean steel band for hire for wedding and corporate events in Yorkshire and the UK. Founded in Yorkshire in 1975, they are now into the third generation, driven by young UK born musicians they are dedicated both to the steel band tradition and to the new sounds of today. There have been many achievements since 1975. These includes concert tours of France and Germany; performances at major venues such as the Royal Festival Hall, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the London Old Vic; an appearance on BBC TV's Blue Peter; and the honour of performing at the Labour Party's Centenary Birthday Party where they were presented to The Prime Minister and Cherie Blair.

However, none of this can compare with their achievements in 2002. Firstly, in June they were invited to perform at Buckingham Palace for the Queen during the Golden Jubilee Festival, and were seen by a global television audience.

Then, in August they fulfilled a long-term ambition by winning for the first time the UK National Steelband Championships (The Panorama) at the Notting Hill Carnival in London. Their performance of ‘Firestorm’ was arranged and led by Clarence Morris, Director of the National Steel Orchestra of Trinidad and Tobago and saw them crowned champion steel band for the year.

One of the great things about North Stars Steel Orchestra is their versatility.

They perform at formal concerts as well as dinner dances, weddings, private parties, corporate events, outdoor festivals, carnivals and street parties. In most cases no amplification or electricity required. They are an outstanding Caribbean band and one of the top Caribbean steel band outfits to hire for a wedding or corporate event.
