| There are many forms of live jazz band for
hire including trad jazz bands
and smooth jazz. There is also a separate entry on
our menu (on the left of the page) for the big swing
jazz bands. We hire live jazz entertainers
for all events in and around the Nottingham, Newark,
Mansfield, Bolsover, Chesterfield and Blyth area.
A traditional jazz band plays the New Orleans
Dixieland style of music. These Dixie trad
jazz bands add a great atmosphere to any live music
event. Their skills are used for weddings,
store openings, corporate events, fun casino themes,
garden parties and drinks receptions or any
function where a relaxed atmosphere is the order of
the day. Some bands can perform as walkabout ‘wandering
minstrels’ and walk about and move wherever
you need their great jazz music played. Civil Ceremonies
are a specialty & a live jazz band is perfect
to hire for a more ‘informal ambience’
compared to a wedding harpist or
a traditional wedding string quartet. After a Church
Ceremony, your jazz band can play as you and your
guests arrive at the reception venue or your marquee.
This creates a lovely, warm welcome - especially if
your guests have no idea the band will be there. One
of the concerns we hear the most is that the photo
sessions can often cover a long period. The live Jazz
Band can play as during the pre-dinner drinks &
keep everyone entertained. During the wedding breakfast
itself, you’ll have your friends and members
of your families around each table so not everyone
on a table may be familiar with each other. For weddings
or other occasions, the dinner jazz band can play
appropriate music during the meal itself (at the right
volume), including smooth swing jazz music, which
has recently been made even more popular by Jools
Holland, Jamie Cullum, Norah Jones, Rod Stewart, Westlife
and Robbie Williams – so young & old know
it! This stimulates relaxed conversation between your
guests & provides the perfect start to your wedding
celebration or any other important event. The region
